Buyers often ask for "your MOQ" expecting a single figure. In practice MOQ is calculated per item and per colour, and it changes with material, printing and packaging.
What drives the number
- Dyeing batch size — custom colours need a minimum dyeing run
- Component setup — moulds, printing plates and packing artwork
- Carton configuration — a 480 pcs carton rarely ships half full
How to structure a first order
Choose 3-6 items across a single category, keep colours to the standard palette, and use neutral packaging. That combination lets you test quality and sell-through before committing to custom dyeing and private label.
When MOQ can be lowered
Mixed-item cartons, stock colours, and orders placed in the factory's low season are the three levers that most often unlock a smaller first order.
